Three more proprietors were arrested on warrants last week stemming from a raid on suspected illegal gambling operations at four businesses in the county last month.
Alvin Charles Armour, 48, 62 Maplewood Lane, Hull, was charged with keeping a gambling place and two counts of commercial gambling at Armour’s Game Room on Hwy. 29 South in Hull.
Mohammed Noor Syed, 30, 2033 Arbor Springs Way, Buford, was charged with commercial gambling and keeping a gambling place at Food Mart on Hwy. 98 near Commerce.
Charlie Udhwani, 47, 1463 Georgia Club Drive, Statham, was charged with keeping a gambling place and two counts of commercial gambling at his Quick Pick convenience store on Hwy. 72 in Colbert.
These three arrests follow the arrest of Mohammad Shafiq, 39, of Statham, who was charged with two counts of commercial gambling on July 18, the night of the raid.
In another arrest, two Colbert brothers were charged following an alleged hit and run with a motorcycle on Davis Street in Hull.
James Quinton Faucett, 24, 1366 Kingston Hollow, Colbert was charged with one count of aggravated assault and Joseph Robert Faucett, 27, of the same address, was charged with aggravated assault, open container and DUI.
According to the incident report, Deputy Josh Smith was dispatched to the area after a motorcycle was reportedly struck by a black Camaro on Davis Street in Hull. Smith met the Camaro as it was traveling north on Colbert-Danielsville Road. He turned around and apprehended them at a residence they had pulled into after noting the smell of alcohol and finding alcohol in the vehicle. Deputies also observed damage to the vehicle consistent with the report given by the motorcycle driver.
