A man on Sorrow Patterson Road allegedly threatened “suicide by cop” recently.
According to the incident report, the responding officers were informed that the man also had a gun. Officers met the man at this front door and placed him in handcuffs for safety and patted him down for weapons. No weapons were found on him but the report noted that the man appeared under the influence of some type of drug. During the 911 call the man had allegedly told dispatch he wanted police to “shoot him in the head” and mentioned “suicide by cop.” The man was taken to the hospital by officers for evaluation.
Other incidents on file at the sheriff’s office recently included:
•Suicide attempts were reported on Blacks Creek Church Road, Norwood Road and on Vickory Lane recently.
•Burglary was reported at mobile homes behind New Beginnings Church on Hwy. 98 West last week. Items stolen included jewelry, a rifle and gold coins.
•A woman on Hwy. 98 West reported that her cousin who has the same name has been using her identity and her address.
•Officers were called to a fight between father and son on Nowhere Road last week. The father said he was trying to discipline his son for his “smart mouth.”
•A woman on Maplewood Lane reported that someone stole a TV, DVD player and cable box from her home.
•Simple battery was reported on Fowler Freeman Lane last week after a woman said she was struck on face and arms by a man during an argument.
•A 14-year old boy on Shoal Creek Road was reported as a missing/runaway juvenile recently.
•A man on Adams Clarke Road reported that his vehicle had been entered and that a rifle and stereo had been taken.
•Copper tubing from a heat pump was allegedly stolen from a rental home on Davis Street in Hull.
•A woman on Hardman Lane reported that she had been receiving phone calls on her cell phone from people soliciting her to give them her personal information. She said that on that date, she had given someone her debit/Mastercard information. The responding officer advised to immediately cancel the card and to not give her personal information over the phone.
•Criminal trespass was reported on Hardman Morris Road last week after deputies went there in an attempt to locate a juvenile runaway. A window was found broken along with signs that someone had climbed in the window.
•Warrants will be issued for a 17-year-old who allegedly called 911 with a false report of a suicide threat. The number and voice from the call were found to be the same as that of a person arrested in early April for false 911 calls.
•Copper tubing and other items were reportedly stolen from a rental home on Colbert-Diamond Hill Road.
•A fight was reported at the high school last week between two juvenile males. One was transported to the alternative school because his guardian could not be located and the other was taken to the jail where he was released to his guardian. The case was turned over to the juvenile court system.
•A woman on Martin Griffeth Road reported that her Northeast Georgia Bank debit card had been used fraudulently for transactions totaling $486 at the same location. The woman was contacted by her bank about the transactions and canceled her account.
•A woman on Paoli Road reported that a homeless cousin who was staying with her had gone into her purse and taken $700 cash and some jewelry. She said the incident was witnessed by her daughter, who saw the man going through her purse and was told “not to tell mama, ‘cause she will get mad.” She was advised of the warrant process.
•Copper ground wires and bars were reportedly stolen from the AT&T cell phone tower on Easy Street in Hull recently.
•Harassing phone calls were reported on Swamp Guinea Road last week when a woman said she has been receiving continuous calls and texts from her husband’s mistress, some of them threatening. She was explained the TPO and warrant process and told to call the sheriff’s office if the woman tries to contact her again.
•A woman on Adams Clarke Road said her boyfriend told her during an argument that he would “knock her head off and bury her in the pasture so no one would find her.” Her boyfriend denied it and said there were no threats or physical contact between them and that it was “just a verbal argument over money.”
•A woman who owns property on Duncan Swindle Road reported that locks she placed on the buildings had been cut off and replaced with new ones. She stated that several weeks prior to this, her stepson said he was going to go there and take his father’s belongings. Once access was gained to the buildings, she reportedly found multiple items stolen, along with items from a camper and van on the property.
•Someone reportedly broke into and damaged three school buses parked at Hull-Sanford Elementary School. According to the report, someone sprayed the contents of fire extinguishers all over the inside of the buses, stealing one of the extinguishers, as well as a first aid and body fluid kit from one of the buses. Two seats from inside this bus were also cut.
•A man on Tarpkins Road reported that someone used his bank account to make a $200 purchase at Target. Northeast Georgia Bank also called him to ask if he was purchasing something at Alfred’s Food Store for $800. When he told them he wasn’t, the bank denied the transaction.
•A woman on Jot-Em-Down Road reported that she suspects her sick mother-in-law’s two caregivers of stealing money and jewelry from the woman’s purse. She said the family had placed pen cameras in the room in an attempt to catch them in the act, but were unsuccessful.
•A man on Hardman Morris Road reported that someone kicked in the door on his shop and stole a weedeater, edger and a pressure washer from it.
•A woman on Dyer Road reported that four trash bags full of aluminum cans, a corner freezer and two window a/c units were missing from her front porch area.
•A pistol, jewelry and cash were reportedly stolen from a home on Veteran’s Drive.
•A woman on Booger Hill Road reported that her Visa debit card had been used fraudulently at various locations.
•A father and son reported that someone they know stole a motor from their shop on Hwy. 172.
•A Remington trimmer was reportedly stolen from the Dollar General Store in Danielsville by a white male who became irate and left when the manager confronted him. The tag number of the vehicle was turned over to officers.
•A man on Gosnell Hutto Road reported that someone took his bicycle and sold it for scrap.
