Four people were arrested recently following an anonymous tip about living conditions at their house.
Four charged at Loop Road home
Tony Randall Croy, Sr., 49, and his son, Tony Randall Croy, Jr., 26, 440 Loop Road, Commerce, were each charged with receipt, possession or transfer of firearm by a convicted felon or felony first offender. Croy Sr. was also charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
Also arrested at the residence were Richard Scott Pealock, 28, and Samantha Ann Pealock, 26. The Pealocks were each charged with two counts of cruelty to children and two counts of reckless conduct.
According to the incident report, state probation officers, DFCS and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous letter about an 8-year old child living in “deplorable conditions” at the home. According to the letter, firearms were left out within easy access of the child. When they arrived at the home, a woman there invited them in where they found the floor of the home covered in garbage and dog feces. There was also a rifle/shotgun in the hallway. The woman also showed them two gun safes in the bedroom that she said were full of firearms. A search warrant was authorized and executed and 47 firearms were removed from the home, as both Croy men are convicted felons.
DFCS and a sheriff’s office investigator were called in to investigate the conditions as pertaining to the child.
In another arrest, Keith Ryan Yaste, 28, 236 Mason Mill Drive, Danielsville, was arrested for DUI/alcohol, reckless driving, no tag, no proof of insurance and failure to obey a stop sign last week after dispatch received a call about him riding a four-wheeler on Hwy. 29 North. According to the incident report, an officer went to Jones Chapel Church’s parking lot where he spotted the four-wheeler on East Jones Chapel Road with Yaste driving and carrying a female passenger. Yaste reportedly came out into Hwy. 29 without stopping for the stop sign and proceeded to go to Mason Mill Road. He then crossed Hwy. 29 again, on two wheels after the officer activated his blue lights. The vehicle was almost struck by an oncoming northbound vehicle before turning onto Mason Mill Road. The four-wheeler then stopped and the officer noted that Yaste appeared intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to jail. The female passenger was given a ride home by another officer.
