Couple faces drug, obstruction charges
Two people were arrested recently after deputies went to Tommy James Mobile Home Park to serve an arrest warrant.
Russell Frank Massey, 32, Tommy James MHP, Ed Coile Road, Hull, was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, interference with government property, marijuana possession less than an ounce, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, order to incarcerate (two counts), possession of tools for the commission of a crime and obstruction.
His girlfriend, Amy Elizabeth Brown, 20, 1126 Flatwoods Road, Elberton, was charged with simple battery against police officer/dog/corrections or detention officer and two counts of obstruction.
According to the incident report, when officers arrived Massey jumped out a bedroom window and ran into a field while throwing items out of his pocket. Officers caught up with him and found that he had been carrying methamphetamine in his pockets. Brown allegedly grabbed a deputy’s arm and yelled at him to let Massey go before being subdued by another officer.

•Jovante Demitrix Harper, 18, 1776 Neese Commerce Road, Commerce, was arrested at the high school last week for underage consumption of alcohol.
•Christopher A. Moore, 39, 380 Watson Mill Road, Comer, was charged with DUI/drugs after his vehicle allegedly went off the road on Hwy. 98 West, striking the Madison County Library sign. Moore stated he had fallen asleep and ran off the road, but later admitted he had taken several pain pills, which he said were all prescribed by a doctor. The officer noted his speech was slurred and that he had difficulty standing.
•Albert Bacon, 44, 3820 Covington Hwy., Decatur, improper passing of emergency/towing/highway vehicle.
•Debra Jean Barber, 55, 150 Apt. A Hermun Street, Athens, probation violation.
•Jill Worley Blanton, 46, 235 Harve Mathis Road, Athens, theft by receiving stolen property.
•William Matthew Booth, 21, 194 Liberty Circle, Hartwell, probation violation.
•Robert Gary Bray, 66, 9574 Hwy. 72 West, Lot 47, Hull, DUI/alcohol and head/taillight requirements.
