Hull man charged with aggravated battery
A Hull man was arrested recently after he allegedly severely beat another man at his residence on Jack Sharp Road.
Wesley Lamar Flanagan, 31, 93 Jack Sharp Road, was charged with one count of aggravated battery.
According to the incident report, officers were dispatched to the residence in reference to a heated domestic dispute. Once there, they found Flanagan being held on the ground by witnesses. He was immediately handcuffed and officers went inside the home where they found another man with serious injuries. The man had a broken arm and other injuries and was transported to Athens Regional by Madison County EMS. Before he was transported, he told officers that Flanagan became angry when he took his car keys away and would not let him drive. Flanagan was noted as being “very intoxicated.” He stated he did not mean to hurt anyone.
In another incident, two passengers were arrested and warrants have been issued for the driver of a vehicle that led officer Joshua Smith on a chase last week along Garnett Ward Road and Thomas Drive. When the car came to a stop on Thomas Drive at Lee Road, the driver fled on foot and was not immediately located.
Passenger Kirsten Danielle Jones, 22, 300 Logmont Trace, Bogart, was charged with obstruction, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, prescription drugs must be in their original container and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.
Another passenger, Shantez Monique Booker, 32, 59 Ivy Wood Drive, Hull, was charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
Booker reportedly provided the name of the driver and identified him in a photo lineup. Warrants were issued for his arrest.

•Ashley Marie Meeler, 21, 8376 Hwy. 29 North, Danielsville, was charged with failure to report an accident with injury/damage and no proof of insurance after a vehicle she was driving was found abandoned. The 1990 Crown Victoria had traveled through a pasture fence on Mathis Road and gone down an embankment into a creek.
•Patrick James Nerber, 43, 1291 Foote McClellan Road, Colbert, was charged with battery and criminal trespass after he allegedly attacked his wife when she refused to take him to buy some drugs. His wife said he had been released from the Clarke County Jail that day. His wife had redness and swelling on her neck, according to the officer’s report.
•Wendell Todd Barnett, 52, 88 Broad Street, Nicholson, probation violation.
•Jimmy Dale Bennett, 57, P.O. Box 324, Ila, seat belt violation, giving false name, address or birthdate to law enforcement officer, prescription drugs must be in their original container and one count each of possession of Schedule II, IV and V controlled substances. (GSP)
•David Glenn Chapman, 49, 587 Adam Duncan Road, Hull, driving a motor vehicle on suspended, canceled, or revoked registration and obstruction. (GSP)
