Madison County Rotary Club members gathered at the home of Elisha Hart June 9 to construct a ramp for the family following a recent wreck that took the life of 10-year-old Samuel Hart and left Mrs. Hart with a broken foot and ankle.
“I know if Samuel were here, he would be running up and down the ramp wide open,” said Mrs. Hart, when looking at the ramp of her active son, who loved to play baseball.
Rotary members said construction of the 36-foot ramp went well, and was completed in less than two hours.
Elisha and her husband, Thomas, moved to Madison County about 13 year ago, and have enjoyed living here, they said.
Mrs. Hart said she has been overwhelmed by support of the community she has received. She said she loved the community, and she thanked them for coming together to help their family by their deeds and prayers. She thanked the members of the Rotary Club who constructed the ramp for her.
Workers on the ramp included: Paul Tilton, Ed Brown, Jeff Dillard, Bob Anderson, Artry Bishop, James Adams, Alton Rowe, Roy Gandy, Frank Ginn, Calvin Ward, Pat Quinn, Erwin Hardeman, Jerry Coutant and Mark Gandy.
