The Madison County Board of Education approved the following personnel actions Thursday, June 30:
Colbert Elementary
•accept the resignation of Josh McCurley as an after school worker.
Danielsville Elementary
•hire Linda Herring as a paraprofessional, replacing Kelly Lasseter.
•hire Avonlea Crawford, after school worker, replacing Miranda Porterfield.
•approve Michelle Carey as the after school director (currently bookkeeper), replacing Jenny Parham.
•approve transfer of Gail Cochran from media paraprofessional to technology specialist, replacing Karen Cosgrove.
Hull-Sanford Elementary
•hire Ashley Armour as a Pre-K teacher, replacing Christa Friess.
•hire Brook Williams as a paraprofessional, replacing Chasity Elrod.
•hire Lorie Skelton as a paraprofessional, replacing Chastity Williams.
•hire Michelle Appelman as a paraprofessional, replacing Tasha Nicholson.
Ila Elementary
•hire Leeann Carey as a half-time custodian, replacing John Dobbs.
•hire Christy Coile as a bookkeeper, replacing Terri Seagraves.
•hire Julianne Smith as a paraprofessional, replacing Amy Thomas.
•Mary Ann Bonds dismissed for cause immediately as a paraprofessional.
•Cindy Hawks internal transfer from a kindergarten parapro to a special ed parapro (reduction in hours from eight to six daily).
Madison County High School
•hire Josh White as a teacher, replacing Jerry Taylor.
•hire Emily Davidson as a teacher, new position.
System level
•transfer Kelly King from Danielsville Elementary School teacher to student services coordinator (replacing Joan Baird and Kathy Colwell, moving to 49 percent).
Transportation
•Joyce Banks dismissed for cause immediately as a bus driver.
