Madison County’s 11-12-year-old all stars and the county’s Senior League all star teams have both captured the District 7 championships and advanced to the state all star tournament.
The Little League (11-12-year-old) squad kept scorebook keepers’ fingers moving this week, pounding out hit after hit and outscoring opponents 53-3 in the district tournament. Madison County beat Rabun County 12-0 Saturday afternoon in the championship game.
Little League all star district champions include: Chan Pethel, Tyler Griffeth, Will Thornton, Golston Gillespie, Cole Smith, Bryce Nix, Dylan Gentry, Noah Rogers, Levi Elrod and Luke Gillespie.
Meanwhile, the Senior League team bounced back from a tournament-opening loss with hot bats and great pitching the rest of the way, downing Toccoa in the semifinals and finals 13-0 and 13-1.
Senior League team members include: Keagan Whittington, Logan Pace, Ethan Smith, Zach Pilgrim, Silase Mclendon, Hayden Carey, Nick Alewine, Corbin Hancock, Chris Graham, Jordon Johnson, Eric Smith, Elijah Fleming, Zeke Smallwood, Lee Griffeth and Hayden Frey.
Madison County has now captured three district titles this all star season. The Senior League softball all stars won the title last week.

Congrats to all three of the All-Star teams. These kids are representing our community with pride. Hats off to the parents and coaches of these young athletes as they set wonderful examples of leadership and sportsmanship.
