The Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Royston woman for homicide by vehicle stemming from a June 9, 2010 traffic fatality on Wildcat Bridge Road. Dorothy Hilly, 76, of Royston, was a passenger in a Ford F-150 driven by Amanda Elizabeth Roberts, 29, 690 Robert Reed Road.
Roberts was charged with felony homicide by vehicle in the first degree, DUI/alcohol, DUI/alcohol under 21 years old, weaving over roadway and child or youth restraint not used properly.
According to the incident report from the accident, Hilly was killed when the pick up went off the right shoulder of the road and overturned.
Another passenger, an 8-year old girl, survived but was hospitalized for her injuries.
