An 18-year old male was arrested recently after he allegedly forced a juvenile female to have sex with him.
Joshua Bobby Morton, 18, 247 Grady Drive Lot 11, Hull, was charged with rape, child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
According to the incident report, the mother of the child called 9-1-1 to report that her daughter said she had been raped by an 18-year old neighbor in their mobile home park.
The victim told officer Jeffrey Strickland that she was forced to have sex with Morton when she took a child home that her mother was babysitting.
Other incidents on file at the sheriff’s office included:
•Burglary was reported at the Head Start (Easter Seals) on Rock Quarry Road last week. Someone reportedly broke several door handles and went through the filing cabinet and a box that contained medicine. Nothing was reported missing.
•Burglary was reported on Hwy. 29 South when a man reported that someone had cut the lock off of his barn and stole several items including two fire extinguishers, antique plows and 500 feet of telephone cord.
•Child molestation was reported on Lucky Jones Road when a woman there said she wanted to report an incident with her 5-year old daughter that had happened in Madison County and Franklin County.
•Warrants have been issued for a man who reportedly struck his girlfriend in front of her minor child. The little girl said she woke up because of the fight.
•A warrant has been issued for a man who allegedly beat up his girlfriend at a residence on Hwy. 106 North. She stated he beat her up because he was out of meth and had gone “crazy” while she was feeding their infant. He struck her in the head after she put the child down.
•A woman on Providence Church Road reported that she suspects her daughter stole her EBT (Food Stamp) card from her purse. The daughter denied taking the card and said her mother was just trying to get her into trouble.
•A man on Hwy. 106 South reported that his 13-year old grandson was wielding a knife and had stabbed a wall in the house. He then left the house wearing a mask and was hiding. He returned while officers were there. He had a butcher knife and another knife in his boot, which he put down when told to do so. He was taken to ARMC for medical evaluation as he is reportedly on medications for mental health issues.
•A man on Hwy. 98 East reported that another man has made several calls to him threatening bodily harm to him. He is unsure of where the man lives, but thinks he lives in Comer.
•Reckless conduct was reported on Stone Ridge Court when DFCS workers reported that children were “touching each other inappropriately.”
•Harassing phone calls were reported on Neese Commerce Road last week after a woman there said she and others have been receiving threatening messages.
