Ila man charged with battery

Donald Leo Syfrett, Jr., 20, 140 Crawford Street, Ila, was charged with battery.

According to the incident report, the victim said that his nephew (Syfrett) came into his room at 12:15 a.m. and turned his radio off and told him to “leave the $%^&&*% radio off,” while shoving him back on the bed. When the victim stood back up, Syfrett allegedly hit him in the mouth with his fist. The officer noted that the victim had a broken tooth and swollen and cut lips.
