The Madison County Bicentennial Festival will be held at Memorial Park in Danielsville Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.
There is no admission and no contest entry fees.
“The Madison County Bicentennial Committee has been working hard to provide the citizens of Madison County a fun-filled day to celebrate our 200th anniversary,” organizers said. “This will be a day of laughter and good old fashioned fun at little or no expense. Most activities will be absolutely free.”
Music will provided by the Wildcat Bridge Band and the Holman Autry Band. Gunny sack races, greased pig contest, hog calling contest, face painting, costume contest, hula hoop contest, corn husk doll making, butter churning, blacksmithing, three legged races, cake walk, bucket brigade, hay rides, dunking booth and more.
There will be two lunch choices plus popcorn, cotton candy, boiled peanuts and baked goods.
“This is gonna be a fun day,” organizers said. “You can even go back in time as you take an eventful guided tour of the courthouse in the square. Madison County Bicentennial commemorative items will be available for purchase.”
