Madison County High School band director Nick Golding, a Navy veteran, knew that 2011 was the right time for a patriotic halftime show.
“I thought that if we were ever going to do a patriotic show, this would be the year, the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11,” said Golding.
So, the MCHS band will perform “Heroes Fallen, Not Forgotten” during halftime on Friday nights this fall.
“It’s a three-movement show that pays tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, all the way from the Civil War up to today,” said Golding. “And then also remembering those who lost their lives in the Oklahoma City bombing and the World Trade Center attacks.”
