A Danielsville woman was arrested last week after she allegedly stole money from the Quick Pick Store in Colbert. Cassandra Dawn Shoemaker, 26, 83 B and L Lane, was charged with one count of theft by taking.
The owner of the store said that since July Shoemaker, who was an employee, had been stealing from his business by making refunds on cartons of cigarettes and pocketing the money. At the time of the report he had already accounted for over $600 in refunds taken that week alone. Shoemaker stated she would pay the money back and that she had never done anything like that before. She estimated the refunds taken at about $500 per week.
