Madison County water system’s water usage hit an all-time high last month.
Utility director Steve Shaw told the industrial development authority Sept. 19 that the county billed 759 customers for a total of 8.3 million gallons used in August. He said this was approximately two million gallons above the previous month’s usage.
Shaw said that the Commerce-Neese water line project is complete with all lines in service as of Monday.
Executive director Marvin White told the authority that the IDA will take over the billing for the Black’s Creek Church Road water lines, currently billed by the city of Commerce, in October.
