Shoplifters steal car at Ingles

The employee ran to the vehicle where she saw an elderly black male in the driver’s seat. A black female was seated in the front passenger seat, with another black female in the backseat. The employee said she told the suspect “just give the food back and they could leave,” but the suspect instead climbed over the backseat, hit the elderly driver, and pushed him out of the vehicle.

At that point, the car left the parking lot.

The driver stated he did not know the male, but the two females were known as “Gloria” and “Tricia.” He could not provide any last names for the subjects. The driver stated he had picked up the subjects on Branch Street in Athens, and that “they had stated they would give him some steaks for taking them” to the store.

A lookout was given to Athens-Clarke County, and the vehicle was entered on GCIC as stolen. Strickland observed a red mark on the side of the elderly victim’s face where the suspect struck him. A pair of sunglasses was located where the vehicle had been parked, and the victim stated they belonged to the suspect. They were placed into evidence at the sheriff’s office.

One of the women involved in the robbery was located by Athens-Clarke Police Tuesday morning. She was identified as Patricia Ann Parks, 24, of Winterville. She was charged with one count of robbery and taken to the Madison County Jail. Parks provided names of the suspect and the other woman in the car, but said she did not know where the vehicle was located at that time.
