A portion of the money raised through the sale of these tags will be filtered down to local communities through the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation. Personally, Keep Madison County Beautiful has applied three times for small grants through this foundation and have received monetary funds to assist us with local projects. These tags will help generate money that will go a long way to sustain the good work of the foundation by making it possible for them to continue giving back to us at the local level.
There are many great specialty tags for different causes, but it is my understanding that this will be the last opportunity our state will give to have new tags introduced. So, it is important that we get this tag listed so as not to miss this opportunity.
If anyone is interested and I hope some of you will be, you must reserve your tag through the local Madison County Tax and Tag office. We must have 1,000 orders statewide or the tag cannot be made.
Here is what you do: Stop by the tax and tag office and issue a check in the amount of $25 to reserve your tag. Be sure and tell them that you want the RG tag (Recycle 4 Georgia) which is listed under the category of Beautification Projects in Georgia. It doesn’t matter if you have already had your birthday, you are simply reserving the tag for when it is available sometime in 2009. You will also be refunded the $25 in the event enough people don’t sign up for the tag to be made.
I am sincerely hoping that any of you who truly support the mission of Keep Georgia Beautiful and the local affiliates throughout the state take this small step to help us obtain this license plate.
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Sandra Webb
