Two charged following wreck

The driver, Jeffery Wayne Sharpe, 56, 1512 Sorrow Patterson Road, Colbert, was charged with DUI/alcohol, driving while license suspended, no proof of insurance, open container and a seatbelt violation. His passenger, Mark Stewart Wood, 57, 640 East Paoli Road, Carlton, was charged with open container.

According to the incident report, Wood told officer Brandon Wood that he and Sharpe had gone to the store to get more beer when they lost control of the vehicle. A witness said that Sharpe was in the driver’s seat when the car ran off the road. Moss noted that there were several beer cans in the vehicle and he could smell alcohol on both men. Sharpe’s pants were wet and when Moss asked him about it he reportedly said, “It’s mostly beer but I think I &%#@@^% on myself too.”
