But it was also a great hitting night for a number of Red Raiders. Madison County struck early in game one, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning, which included a two-run homer by Ivie Drake, a triple by Olivia Duncan and a three-run homer by Bettis.

The team added two more runs in the bottom of the second and bottom of the third. Duncan ripped a two-run, two-out homer in the second and Bettis added her second homer of the night in the third.

Madison County also struck early in game two, with Duncan doubling home Drake in the first inning and Drake blasting a two-run double in the second.

Johns Creek loaded the bases with one out in the third, but Madison County turned a 1-2-3 double play to get out of the jam. It was the first of three consecutive innings that the Red Raiders turned a double play.

Madison County added three more runs in the fifth when Jorden Williams drove in Drake on a fielder’s choice. Duncan then scored on a passed ball and Alexis Damron drove in a run on a single.

Bettis then launched a two-run shot in the top of the sixth to close out the scoring for the night.
