The Danielsville City Council approved the town’s 2011 tax rate Monday at 4 mills, which is unchanged from last year’s rate.
The council also agreed to hold a 2012 budget work session today (Thursday), Oct. 13, at 6 p.m. at city hall.
In addition, the council passed a zoning ordinance amendment that requires zoning requests to come before the council for approval. The group also passed a manufactured home ordinance that requires all manufactured homes being brought into the city to pass inspection by the county building inspector. Attorney Dale Perry said that governments are no longer allowed to ban mobile homes based on their age.
The council approved a beer and wine license for Destiny Corp/Jyoti Pandey (SST Brothers).
Administrative consultant Jerry Presley passed out 2012 proposed budget sheets for the council’s review. Presley said the sheets are based on no increases in salary.
Mayor Philip Croya said that Saturday’s fall festival went very well.
“I think the consensus is that it was one of the best ones done and most vendors said it exceeded their expectations in revenue,” Croya said.
