The Danielsville Volunteer Fire Department has come up with a unique way to encourage folks to donate blood to the American Red Cross.
“We’ve made it so you can give blood and get supper at the same time,” fire chief Marc Perry said.
The fire department, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will sponsor the special blood drive, dubbed “Mull for Blood,” Friday, Dec. 9, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the fire hall in Danielsville.
“Our goal is to collect 100 pints of blood during the blood drive that day,” Danielsville rescue firefighter Randy Wilson said, adding that they have issued this in the form of a challenge to the Red Cross. “The Red Cross don’t think we can do it, but we have set out to prove them wrong,” Wilson said.

Will be there. Please have a sharp needle and an experienced, skilled phlebotomist.

Indeed, "an experienced, skilled phlebotomist" is hard to find. I'm not allowed to give blood but I hope there is a big turnout. Blood and blood products are so desperately needed.
