No more meetings in the health department reception area — that’s good news for Madison County nurse manager Beth Heath, who leads health education classes for the county Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program.
Heath appeared before commissioners Nov. 7, asking the group to consider allowing the WIC service to use one of the three buildings recently purchased by the county at the Lake View Business Park off Rock Quarry Road, just beyond the Head Start office in Danielsville. The largest building at that park will be used to house the Fine Finish program, which provides daytime services to developmentally and physically challenged adults.
Now, WIC will move to a smaller, 1,900-foot building at the park.

Good program. Good move. This is a chance for government to educate those most in need of it while helping new family additions get a good start in life. I wonder if it would be economical for the classroom space to be shared with other programs, like Parent Talk.
