A Colbert woman faces multiple charges after she allegedly bit a deputy during a struggle to remove her from her neighbor’s house.
Jean A Richard, 51, 134 Acorn Road, has been charged with obstruction, criminal trespass, simple battery, public indecency/indecent exposure and terroristic threats and acts.
According to the incident report, officers arrived to find the homeowner in his front yard yelling at them to “get her out” of his house. The man said he did not know who she was and that she forced herself inside his residence.
The woman, Richard, was standing on the front porch of the house clad only in a short white gown that was open in the front, exposing herself. She was also yelling at the homeowner. When asked what she was doing by officer Klint Segars, she didn’t answer but stared up at the sky and made hand gestures. She then ran inside the home yelling profanity at the officers and telling them not to touch her.
The officers followed her inside where they were reportedly forced to use a taser gun on her when she refused to cooperate and threw a wooden paper towel holder at an officer. After she was tasered, she crawled into the bedroom and grabbed an object and attempted to throw it at the officers, then got between the bed and the wall, lying on her back, where she proceeded to kick at the officers. As they were attempting to restrain her, she bit Segars on the hand. Due to her behavior, and a laceration on her arm, once she was under control she was transported to Ty Cobb Hospital for treatment. Photos of the damage to the residence were taken.
In another incident, there were two reports of a suspicious man “dressed in black” on Elm Road. In the first, a woman said her 8-year old son had seen a man dressed in black in the wood line of their yard. The boy told officer Gary Floyd that the man had motioned to him and then ran when the boy called out. Later in the day, Floyd responded to a second call and met with a woman who said her grandson saw a man dressed in black in the wood line near her home. The grandson said he saw the man and ran back to the house and that the man ran off through the woods. No other description was given and Floyd could find no sign of passage in the woods. He also spoke with several registered sex offenders in the area.

He said his son-in-law has a severe “meth” problem and was under the influence on this date. Vaughn explained the two-party affidavit process to the stepfather and the man’s mother.
Vaughn then met with the stepson, who said he was very upset because his sister caught his stepfather having sex with his wife in Oglethorpe County that day. He also said his stepfather had “charged him” during the fight and busted his lip. Vaughn noted that his lip was swollen and that his face was scratched up. He was advised of the TPO process. Both parties were told to stay away from each other.
