Danielsville man faces family violence charge
A Danielsville man was arrested for family violence last week when officer Brandon Moss was dispatched to his residence concerning a domestic dispute.
Karl Edward Vocke, 25, 2641 Roger’s Mill Road, was charged with simple battery FVA after his girlfriend said that he shoved her and forced her to the ground during an argument. Moss noted that the woman was visibly upset and had scratches on her neck. Vocke was reportedly intoxicated and refused to answer questions. He was handcuffed and taken to jail.
Other incidents on file at the sheriff’s office last week included:
•A high school student was charged with possession and use of drug-related objects after a glass marijuana pipe was found in the seat she had just vacated on the bus. The bus driver also said that she had detected a “weird smell” coming from the area where the girl sits. The student reportedly admitted that the pipe was hers and that it must have fallen out of her pocket.
•A woman on Norman Dove Road reported that someone is using her identity to make numerous unauthorized transactions in her name. She said she discovered this when she was turned down for a Macy’s card and checked her credit report.
•An officer found an LG Tracfone in the back of his patrol car as he was preparing for duty. The phone was dead, so he was unable to attempt to find the owner. The phone was placed in an evidence locker.
•A man on Buffington Road reported that four vehicles on his property had been broken into overnight.
•A woman on Hwy. 106 South reported that her boyfriend had used her debit card several times that day without her permission.
•A woman on McCannon Morris Road reported that her mother’s Walmart credit card has been fraudulently used. She said the card was being mailed to her, but that she never received it in the mail.
•A juvenile male reportedly exposed himself to other children on a middle school bus. School officials noted that he had been removed from his previous bus for doing the same thing. He was charged with public indecency.
•A juvenile male was charged with possession of marijuana after an officer found marijuana in his possession at the Chicken Express in Danielsville.
•A man on Maplewood Lane reported that copper wiring had been stolen from a home he rents.
•A man on Live Oak Lane came to the sheriff’s office to report that his account had been used fraudulently numerous times in Florida.
•A man on White Fence Road reported that a TV, Play Station 3, and games were stolen from his living room. A Wii and Wii games were removed from his children’s room and a laptop computer was removed from the master bedroom.
•A man on Transco Road reported that someone stole a battery from his storage building. He said the tenant said she did not take the battery, but that her father had sent her a text message saying he got it.
•A man on Buddy Moore Road said he fought back in self-defense after being attacked by another man who gave him a beer and then accused him of stealing it. Officers found the other man in a shed behind the residence extremely intoxicated and with an injury to his right eye. The parties were separated and explained the warrant process.
•A man on Black’s Creek Church Road reported that his medication had been stolen out of his mailbox.
•Marijuana was found in a cigarette pack on a high school student being searched for tobacco products.
•A woman reported her father missing from a location on Hwy. 72 at the Elbert County line last week. According to the report, the woman said that her father had been missing for three days. She said that an Elbert County deputy took him to the county line because he told him he wanted to go to Athens. He was spotted at Tiny Town later that afternoon. The woman said her father suffered a head injury several years ago at work and that he needs medication or he is not “all there.”
•A man on Vineyard’s Creek Church Road reported that someone came onto his property and took a hand-crank pump out of a 55-gallon drum that was sitting in his yard.
•A woman on Peachtree Street reported that she had experienced three incidents of criminal trespass in the last three weeks. She said that first, her mother’s cat was shot by a pellet gun. Next, she said that someone took a picture of her and her husband in the hot tub. Lastly, she said someone shot her Dodge truck with a pellet gun causing damage to the fog light and driver side window. She said she has no suspects in mind.
•A man on Adams Road said someone has stolen approximately 250 feet of copper wiring out of the walls of a home he is building there.
•A man said his deceased father’s house in Thomas Heights was burglarized. He said he had last checked on the home two weeks before and when he returned that day he found out about the burglary. He said paperwork stored in the attic was trashed and carpet in the bedroom had been rolled up as if they were searching for something. He said a lot of tools were stolen from the shop area and that his father’s Cadillac was also stolen. In a second report, the man said someone had damaged new locks he put on the door after the burglary. Nothing was found missing during this second incident.
