“I got drug into that yard, the guy said his brother had a gun, so I stabbed him because I was scared for my life,” said Strickland, according to the incident report.

The officer patted Strickland down for weapons and discovered a clear plastic bag containing a leafy substance, which appeared to be marijuana.

“Deputy Hanley reported that he had located a large (approximately 16-inch) folding blade knife, with a black handle, with what appeared to be blood on the length of the blade, which is approximately eight inches long,” the sheriff’s report stated.

Luke and Sgt. Jeff Strickland went to 116 Gunnell Road and spoke with Harrison Towe, the stabbing victim’s brother, who said he was inside the home playing video games when he heard his brother yelling.

“He came outside and saw his brother walking toward the house holding his abdomen area and saw another subject running toward the house across the street,” the report stated. “Harrison added that his brother was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center by his girlfriend for treatment.”
