A Hull woman was arrested recently after she reportedly tried to hit her sister-in-law with a large stick.
Dena Kaplan Hayden, 50, 192 Jason Drive, was charged with aggravated assault.
According to the incident report, her sister-in-law said when she arrived home, Hayden began cursing and threatening her with a long stick. Hayden reportedly told her she was going to kill her because she was late bringing her husband’s truck home. The victim was able to get away and call 9-1-1. When officer Jeffrey Strickland spoke to Hayden, he noted that she was extremely intoxicated. She told Strickland that she was going to “beat her sister-in-law’s %&*” for being late with the truck. Strickland located the stick where Hayden hid it under the couch.
In a similar incident, two sisters were arrested last week after a fight broke out between them at their home.
Trina Efird Lowery, 55, and Sheila Efird Carlan, 58, 46 Grady Drive, Hull, were each charged with one count of battery.
According to the incident report, Carlan stated that her sister began to argue with her about money and struck her in the face, resulting in both of them being on the floor of the living room. Lowery said that Carlan then bit her on the arm, causing it to bleed. Officers were unable to determine the primary aggressor in the situation, so both women were arrested.

•Jeffery Michael Johnston, 32, 2189 College Street, Comer, was charged with DUI/drugs after he was found sleeping in his vehicle on the side of the road in front of Lakeview Grocery on Hwy. 98 West. He reportedly told the officer he had taken two Lortabs earlier.
•Stanley Lorenzo Ardister, 44, 1146 Huntington Road, Elberton, driving while license suspended or revoked (felony, fourth or subsequent offense).
•James Randall Brooks, 43, 160 Willis Glenn Road, Hull, three counts of deposit account fraud/bad checks.
•Derek Ezra Burdette, 19, 2753 Grady School Road, Canon, improper lane change and marijuana possession less than an ounce. (GSP)
•Jessie James Carey, 27, 305 South Jackson Street, Hartwell, DUI/alcohol, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and weaving over roadway.
•Jerry Mell Dean, Jr., 36, 171 Christmas Circle, Colbert, open container, defective tires, DUI/alcohol, weaving over roadway, driving on wrong side of the road, too fast for conditions, reckless driving, hit and run duty of driver to stop at or return to the scene of an accident and following too closely.

•Rene Alberto Flores, 28, 244 Madison Boulevard, Colbert, knowingly driving a motor vehicle on suspended or revoked registration, driving without a valid license, failure to obey stop sign and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
