An 11-year-old Madison County boy is in critical condition Tuesday at Egleston Hospital in Atlanta after a Monday incident at his home.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the child was injured in an incident at approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday at his home off Wesley Chapel Road.
The boy was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center and from there via life flight to Egleston Children’s Hospital.
“At this time, the child is in critical condition and there appears to have been no foul play involved,” said Sheriff Kip Thomas.
The child’s identity has yet to be released.
The Department of Family and Children’s Services and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident.
