A Danielsville man was arrested recently after he allegedly struck his pregnant girlfriend in the head.
Dustin Lawrence Bellamy, 22, 1276 Macedonia Church Road, was charged with battery against a female who is pregnant.
His girlfriend said they were sitting in his pick-up at his father’s house on Macedonia Church Road when they began to argue over him allegedly cheating on her while she is nine months pregnant. She said she pushed him and grabbed his hair and he punched her in the face with his fist. She got out of the truck and called her mother to pick her up. Officer Gary Floyd noted that she had fresh blood caked on the front of her shirt and on her nose and mouth.
Bellamy denied the accusation and said she fell while getting out of the truck.
In another incident, four people ended up being taken to jail after deputies and investigators went to a home on S and M Drive to locate Dexter L. Wood, 36, for an outstanding warrant by US Marshals out of Jackson County.
Randy Dean McLaughlin, 18, 1545 Cedar Shoals Drive, Athens, was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession and use of drug-related objects.
William Douglas Smith, 47, 60 S and M Drive, Hull, was charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
Tiffany Lashey Strickland, 25, S and M Drive, Lot 60, Hull, was charged with aiding or permitting another to escape lawful custody or confinement.
According to the incident report, after they surrounded the house and knocked on the door, officer Jason Ring said deputies could hear “a lot of commotion” inside as if people were running through the house. Strickland then came to the door and told them Wood was not there. She gave permission to search and officers located McLaughlin in a back bedroom and Smith in a locked bathroom. Two suspected bags of methamphetamine were found in Smith’s pocket. After being told he was under arrest, Smith told officers that Wood was in a closet in the back bedroom. The officers also found a number of drug paraphernalia in the home in plain view.
