A Carlton man was charged with family violence recently after he allegedly threw his wife to the ground during an early morning argument.
Robbie Billy Lee Bryant, 31, 106 9th Street, was charged with one count of battery FVA.
According to the report, officer Justin Hanley responded to the scene, where Bryant’s wife told him that she and her husband got into an argument around 2 a.m. when she tried to get him to sign divorce papers. He ripped the papers in half and the argument escalated into a physical altercation. Bryant reportedly knocked a hole in the wall and broke the bedroom doorframe before grabbing his wife by the arms and hair and flinging her to the ground. Bryant then left the residence in a 1986 Isuzu truck registered in her name, she said.
In another arrest, Brandon Lamar Ledford, 21, 1004 Miller McElreath Road, Danielsville, was charged with financial transaction card theft after he allegedly stole his grandfather’s debit card. According to the report, his grandfather said Ledford had been staying with him and that he told him he needed to leave. He said Ledford appeared upset at first, but then left “in a hurry” riding his bike toward Danielsville. The grandfather then discovered his debit card missing. Ledford was found on his bicycle in front of the Madison County Library, with the debit card in his possession.
