Middle school ceremony set for Sunday

A ceremony to celebrate the opening of Madison County Middle School will be held Sunday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. in the Mustang gym.

Following the ceremony, middle school students will guide the tours of the 161,147 square foot building, while information will be provided about the construction of the building.

The school will also show off its music program as MCMS chorus and band are both scheduled to perform. The chorus will sing the national anthem.

Former Madison County schools superintendent Keith Cowne, who headed the school system when construction of the school started, is the keynote speaker.

Refreshments will be provided in the solarium.
