First Citizens Bank inside Ingles grocery store in Hull was robbed between 10:45 – 11 a.m. this morning (Wednesday).
The suspect is described as a clean shaven white male wearing eye glasses, in his late 40s, six feet tall and approximately 180 pounds.
He was wearing blue jeans, a dark blue or black hoodie and black tennis shoes.
According to Madison County sheriff Kip Thomas, the man presented a note to the teller, demanding money and stating that he had a gun in his pocket.
He left on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.
Nearby Hull – Sanford Elementary was placed on lockdown as a precaution, Thomas said.
He said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is also working the case.
They are currently awaiting video from outside cameras to find out what type of vehicle he may have been in.
Thomas said the public should be cautious and that though no weapon was seen, the suspect did say in the note that he was armed.
