A Madison County man was severely injured in an accident on Rogers Mill Road recently.
Heath Patrick, 29, of Hudson River Church Road, was helping a friend do some shingle work on his roof April 16. He had reportedly laid down the last shingle as it was getting dark when he fell roughly 20 feet and suffered severe injuries.
His aunt, Vicki Drake, said that her nephew is in the Athens Regional Intensive Care Unit. He suffered a severely bruised brain, a broken pelvis, facial fractures and bruised lungs. He is breathing on his own, she said.
“He’s an all around good guy, always wanting to help people,” said Drake. “He’s always in a good mood and I’ve never heard a bad word or ugly thing toward anybody from his mouth.”
Patrick and his wife Stacy have three girls: Diamond, 8; Kelsey, 4; and Payton, 2.
The Madison County High School graduate, who does heating and air work, is the sole provider for his family. Drake said a fund-raising effort is underway to help his wife and children in a time of need.
Anyone wishing to help Patrick and his family can make a donation to the “Heath Patrick Fund” at any First Citizens Bank.
