Comer woman arrested after domestic dispute
A Comer woman was arrested on battery charges recently following a domestic dispute with her husband.
Edna Delois Allen, 55, 1528 Cherokee Road, was charged with one count of simple battery FVA.
According to the incident report, officer Joshua Smith was dispatched to the scene, where he met with the victim, who had called 9-1-1 back while Smith was en route to say his wife “possibly had a machete.” Smith found the husband outside in the driveway and he told him his wife was inside “somewhere.”
Officers entered the home with the husband’s permission and Mrs. Allen met them. She was asked to step out on the porch and show her hands, which she did. She told Smith and another officer that their dispute is ongoing because her husband just got a new job and is constantly calling her names. Smith could smell alcohol on Allen and he asked her if anyone had put their hands on anyone else during the argument tonight, to which she replied, “no, not yet.”
Her husband, who was still outside in the driveway, said he was lying down in bed while his wife was in the living room watching TV, when she began to come down the hallway throwing things and telling him that she was going to “kill him tonight with the machete.” He stated he grabbed the items in his wife’s hands to keep her from throwing them at him and pushed her down the hallway with his chest so he could get away from her. There was no mention of a machete being found in her possession.
