Madison County leaders got price quotes on resurfacing Colbert-Danielsville Road Monday, but the group delayed any decision on the project.
Three companies submitted bids, with each business offering a cost on paving a portion of the road from the city of Colbert to Colbert Danielsville Road, as well as paving the entire six miles of the road from Colbert to Danielsville.
Colbert-Danielsville Road is heavily traveled, particulary by school traffic.
The low bid was from Allied Paving, which offered to do the entire road for $673,550 and a portion of the road for $277,678.
Madison County commissioners agreed to postpone any decision on the matter. The board may discuss the matter at its upcoming called meeting at 9 a.m., June 15. But the group could postpone a decision until after the transportation special purpose local option sales tax (T-SPLOST), which will go before Georgia voters July 31.
