Fat chance of that happening. When is the last time a business moved to Madison County? Local residents don't want a new business located too close to their chicken houses. Might lower their property's appeal.
As to the drug problem: Legalize it! All of it,it's the only way. This War on Drugs is the stupidest thing since prohibition. Anyone that disagrees with that is contributing to the problem. If locking up people worked, we wouldn't have a drug problem, now would we?
I'm tired of paying for the drug war, too. When I think of legalization, though, I think of individual meth cooks poisoning everything next to or around them while they are in their houses, apartments, vehicles or camps, not to mention the risk of blow-ups. The children of drug addicts have it bad enough without exposure to those horrible poisons. At least with other drugs they can't easily be made at home to endanger children. Well, I guess pot can be but I don't think there are dangerous substances involved. I've little problem with marijuana as long as it is taxed and regulated and kept away from children. You see how well we do that with tobacco and alcohol, though.
