Man threatens couple on Diamond Hill – Neese Road
Terroristic threats and acts were reported by a couple on Diamond Hill – Neese Road recently.
According to the incident report, officer Joshua Smith went to the scene, where the woman told him that a man came to her house and asked her mother where “that girl was,” referring to her. She said the man then went to the shop where her husband was and introduced himself. The husband said the man was a white male, approximately six foot two inches tall, 225 pounds, wearing no shirt and a hat. He said the man appeared intoxicated and had come from across the street next to Neese Grocery. He said the man proceeded to tell him “you will not make it here” and began to cuss at him when he told him to leave his property. The woman said he left, but returned again with a knife and entered the house saying “where’s your husband at?” She said the man left and went back across the road when she picked up the phone to call 9-1-1. She said he then left there in a white Ford pickup traveling toward Athens. Smith attempted to contact the suspect at his residence, but was unsuccessful.
•Disorderly conduct was reported on General Daniel Avenue North a white male reportedly scared two elderly females in their residence. A caregiver at the residence said the man had been at Hardees begging for money and when she went to get him he began using profanity and threatening her. She stated that there were two elderly women who were at the residence that were scared of him and could not go to sleep because of how he was acting. She said he had also cursed at her and called her a name because he wanted a cup of coffee. A couple of days later, the man reportedly ran out into traffic in front of the House of Angels group home and jumped on the hood of a couple’s car. When the driver applied her brakes, the man fell onto the roadway. The man said he was trying to end his life because he didn’t have anywhere to live and did not want to go back to jail. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
•A man on Reid Drive reported that he is missing over $200 from his bedroom and that he believes his girlfriend’s son took the money.
•Sgt. Jeffrey Vaughn met with a woman at the Kangaroo in Comer concerning a domestic dispute that had just occurred at their Hill Street home. She said her husband was extremely intoxicated and had been threatening her and that she is scared of him. She said she left before he hit her and was going to stay at a friend’s house that night because she was too afraid to go home. She said she wanted a report filed so she could get a TPO against him.
•A man walking along Hwy. 172 reported that he was struck by a car after his girlfriend kicked him out of her car. He complained of pain in the hip area and right leg and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by EMS. His girlfriend said they had been arguing and that he was drinking so he got out of the car and walked to his cousin’s house and that it happened some time after he left there.
•A woman on Hardman Road reported that her child’s father had been threatening to come and take their child. She was advised of the TPO process.
•Financial identity card fraud was reported by a woman who said her debit card had been used fraudulently at a Target store in New York.
•A man on Abercrombie Road reported that two controller boxes were taken from one of his chicken houses.
•A woman on Peachtree Street reported that a man she knows had tried to pry her back door open while making threats and cursing at her. She said the man was there to see his girlfriend, who had already left to avoid contact with him. She said she was in fear for her and her daughter’s safety.
•Battery was reported at the Shell Station on Hwy. 29 South last week. The victim said a man he knows punched him in the nose after he confronted him about hitting his sister and mother “the other day.” He stated the man punched him after he called him the “n” word. EMS transported the victim to the hospital and he was to let officers know if he wished to press charges.
•A man on Williams Wilson Road said someone has been stealing tools from his garage over the past three months.
•A runaway juvenile was released to his father after his stepmother called to say he had run away from home. She said she found him on Cherokee Road and that he had run away from her into the woods. When officer Brandon Moss arrived in the area, he found the boy on top of his stepmother’s car holding a large piece of wood. He ran from Moss who caught up to him on foot. He said he was not going back home and would just run away again. He was taken to the sheriff’s office where a juvenile complaint form was filled out and he was released to his father.
•A red bike with a black seat was reportedly stolen from beside a home on Hwy. 29 South last week.
•Harassing phone calls were reported on Roy Smith Road last week after a couple there said that a woman has been harassing them since a recent incident between them.
•Battery was reported on Buddy Moore Road last week after a man said another man struck him in the face with an open hand. He said the man then left in a blue van going towards Jack Sharp Road. The victim said his friend just slapped him for “no reason” while the two were hanging out together. He added that the slap had re-broken his nose from another fight he had had two days ago with someone else. He was taken to a local hospital by EMS to be treated for his injuries.
•Copper wiring was stolen from a camper located off Hwy. 172 at the Broad River. The owner said someone had stolen fishing gear out of the camper about a month earlier.
•A woman and her juvenile daughter came to the sheriff’s office to report child molestation that allegedly occurred about a year ago.
•The owner of a camper used for hunting on Roy Woods Road reported that someone had tried to break into the camper using an old rusty lug wrench. The front door was severely damaged due to the wrench having gone through the door. Extra patrol was placed in the area.
•A woman on Jones Road reported that some of her items were missing after her sister put them out in the front yard during the process of her moving out. Her sister said that the victim had given her the items she claims is missing. The victim was advised of the civil process.
•Burglary was reported on Jot-Em-Down Road last week when the homeowner reported that someone broke the bottom hinges on his front door and took a Davis 380 semi-auto pistol and white gold Commerce High School ring.
