Comer man charged with family violence

Sylvester Riden, Jr., 50, 143 Kudzu Road, was arrested on one count of simple battery following a physical altercation with his girlfriend. According to the report, officer Klint Segars met with the woman who was standing in the driveway who told him she was talking on her cell phone and Riden became upset, accusing her of talking to another man. He then allegedly grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to the ground dragging her across the yard, tearing her shirt off. Riden, who appeared to be intoxicated, said they were just arguing and that he didn’t touch her or tear her shirt off. He said the shirt laying on the ground had been brought into the yard by dogs.

•Joe Lewis Harper, 48, 1790 East Broad Street, Athens, probation violation.

•Robert Tyler LaCount, 62, 2450 Diamond Hill – Neese Road, Hull, driving while license suspended or revoked and failure to yield the right of way.

•Nathan Lamar Lord, 30, 1401 Irvin Kirk Road, Lot 9, Danielsville, probation violation.

•Amy Marie Mathis, 27, 344 Christian Strickland Circle, Comer, probation violation.

•Talsey Cleveland McCullough, 31, 69 Chambers Lane, Comer, simple battery.

•Jeremy Berrisford Ozier, 41, 154 Edgewood Drive, Athens, deposit account fraud.

•Steven Brian Perdue, 28, 587 Adams Duncan Road, Hull, probation violation.

•Todd Anthony Porterfield, 46, 119 Archer Road, Colbert, two counts of probation violation.

•Latasha Valita Sims, 43, 170 Peachtree Lane, Athens, giving a false name, address or birthdate to law enforcement officer.

•Ervin Benjamin Sorrow, 47, 1688 Vanna Road, Royston, burglary, theft by receiving stolen property, dumping waste under 500 pounds or 100 cubic feet in volume, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and a probation violation.

•Michael Anthony Standridge, 32, 235 Appalachee Church Road, Auburn, probation violation.

•Brandon Blake Stewart, 29, 401 Helican Springs Road, Athens, entering automobile and seven counts of financial transaction card fraud.

•Adam Turner Underwood, 23, 186 Rock Creek Trail, Ringgold, failure to obey stop sign and DUI/alcohol.
