Two Commerce men arrested on drug charges
Two Commerce men were arrested on drug charges last week during a traffic check on Neese Commerce Road.
Dale Wayne Presley, 35, 160 Trout Lane, was charged with three counts of possession of Schedule II drugs, possession of a firearm or knife, drugs to be kept in original container, open container and DUI.
A passenger in the vehicle, Dallas Lee Presley, 43, 90 Atlanta Avenue, Commerce, was charged with possession of marijuana (less than an ounce), possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes, parole violation (original charge: VGCSA), possession of arms by a convicted felon and first offender probation and open container in vehicle.
According to the incident report, during the traffic check, the officer noticed an odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. After being asked to search the vehicle, the driver informed the deputy that there was a pistol in the glove box. During a pat down search, several pills identified as hydrocodone and oxycodone were found on Dale Pressley. A marijuana cigarette was found under the carpet on the passenger side where Dallas Presley was sitting. Two open cans of Bud Light beer were found in the center console.
In another incident, five people were arrested after a deputy stopped to confront a man who walked in front of his patrol car on Thomas Road.
Thomas Lamar Carter, 23, 174 Pauldoe Circle, Athens, was charged with pedestrian under the influence, pedestrian darting in/out of traffic, obstruction and disorderly conduct after he walked out into traffic and cursed at the officer. He and three other officers then arrested four other suspects who were at the scene. They were:
•Jazimon Monique Simms, 17, 132 Parkview Place, Apt. 132, Athens, use of “fighting words” obscene and vulgar language and obstruction of an officer.
•Jabbaris Lamar Brown, 24, 193 Firewood Court, Athens, use of “fighting words,” obscene and vulgar language, phone call and obstruction of an officer.
•Fernando Joaquin Patterson, 28, 5494 Joe-Em-Down Road, Danielsville, obstruction of an officer and use of “fighting words” obscene and vulgar language, phone call.
•Tywanna Lashay Wilson, 26, 77 Thomas Road, Hull, use of “fighting words” obscene and vulgar language and obstruction of an officer.

•Michael Wayne Washam, 32, 550 Hammet Road, Warrenton, GA, three counts of forgery in the first degree, parole violation, theft by receiving stolen property and identity fraud.
•Anthony Lee Whidby, 28, 820 Shiloh Fort Lamar Road, Danielsville, bench warrant (original charge: public drunkenness).
