Maysville woman killed in single-vehicle accident

A Maysville woman was killed Aug. 11 in a single-car accident on Jot-Em-Down Road.

Shirley Ann Coker, 52, was traveling east on Jot Em Down Road around 10 a.m. when she ran off the roadway and crashed her green 2000 Ford Expedition into a tree, according to a spokesperson with the Athens post of the Georgia State Patrol.

Coker died at the scene.

Coker was listed with a Maysville address with the State Patrol. According to the 911 report, her vehicle was registered in Royston in Franklin County.
