Colbert man arrested for reckless conduct, shots fired

David Christopher Patrick, 37, of 2605 Hardman Morris Road, was charged with three counts of reckless conduct and one count of pointing or aiming a pistol at another.

According to the incident report, deputies were called to the residence on Hardman Morris Road in response to a “shots fired” call.

Once on the scene, Patrick’s wife told them that she and Patrick had began arguing while at a club in Athens, and that once home, Patrick became angry at their daughter for instigating an argument. He reportedly went inside the residence and grabbed a shotgun, then came out on the porch and told everyone to leave or he would “start shooting.” His wife, children and another person went to a truck in the yard and were trying to jump it off so they could leave when Patrick approached them and began to shoot. He then allegedly pointed the gun at this wife and at that point “they all left quickly.”

Patrick was taken to the Madison County Jail for booking.
