Applications for absentee ballots for the Nov. 6 general election are available at the Board of Registrar’s Office and the Secretary of State’s website, www.sos.ga.us.
You may also access information on the county’s website through the Board of Registrars’ link, www.madisonco.us and view the MVP icon.
In order to receive an absentee ballot by mail, an application must be completed and submitted to the registrar’s office for verification. No ballots will be mailed out after Friday, Nov. 2, 2012.
Early/advance voting for all precincts will begin Oct. 15 in the registrar’s office at the government complex, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The county will also hold early/advance voting Saturday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
No reason is necessary to vote early/advance; however a valid photo ID is required. The last date to vote in the registrar’s office for early/advance voting will be Nov. 2, 2012, no exceptions. If you are unable to take advantage of early/advance voting then you will need to go to your normal voting precinct on Election Day. If you have any questions, contact the Registrar Office, 706-795-6335.
“Please remember, you must show proper identification when voting in person either at the registrar’s office or your polling precinct,” officials said.
For early/advance voting during Oct. 22 through Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27, the side door next the registrar’s office will be open for voting purposes only.
