HULL - Shirley Elizabeth Whitfield, 65, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 13, 2012.
A native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late James O. and Wilma Bruce Seagraves. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Jackson. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Don Whitfield; daughters, Rhonda Daniel, Kristy Muller, Shea Thornton; sisters: Kathy Jenkins, Martha Allen, Becky Harrell; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 16, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Jeff Wells, Ray Finger and Lee Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Saturday, September 15, at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted.
