Colbert man charged with obstruction

Patrick James Nerber, 44, 5257 Hwy. 29 South, Lot 13, was charged with violation of family violence order and obstruction.

Officers Wesley Bryant and Lt. Jason Ring arrived at the scene and met with Nerber’s wife, who said she has a TPO against her husband, but that he keeps texting her and calling her phone. Nerber reportedly sent multiple text messages to his wife while officers were there, saying he was coming over. Officers then drove over to Nerber’s residence, where he began to become defensive with officers and resisted being arrested. A struggle ensued, which resulted in Nerber being tasered.

•Kenneth Troy Cobb, 38, 113 Hight Drive, Watkinsville, receipt, possession, or transfer of a firearm by a convicted felon or felony first offender, hunting without a license, hunting without a big game license and hunting without permission.

•Travis Lee Cowart, 34, 158 Fowler Freeman Lane, Danielsville, weaving over roadway, DUI/alcohol, no proof of insurance and seat belt violation. (Comer PD)

•William Todd Dalton, 41, 786 Fifth Avenue, Colbert, battery FVA.

•Jerry Mell Dean, Jr., 38, 171 Christmas Circle, Colbert, DUI/alcohol, open container, weaving over roadway and habitual violator. (GSP)
•David William Giles, 27, 1231 Hwy. 72 West, Hull, DUI/alcohol and weaving over roadway.

•Brandon Wayne Hughes, 27, 128 Pierce Coile Drive, Comer, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, defective tires, window/windshield/wiper violation and tag light required. (GSP)

•Phillip Anthony Nelms, 34, 406 McGinnis Chandler Road, Commerce, theft by receiving stolen property and forgery in the fourth degree.

•Edward Herschel Nunn, 37, 606 Berkley Road, Carlton, probation violation.

•Jason Lee Parks, 33, 430 Hawthorne Avenue, Athens, probation violation.
