Actions filed recently in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Madison County include:
•Marion Scott Laseter, 48, 1130 Pannell Road, Monroe, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $270 for harassing phone calls (reduced from stalking).
•Shannon Lance Johnson, 33, 4130 Janel Lane, Loganville, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $270 for criminal trespass.
•Michael Jay Carl Tucker, 27, 100 Rolling Ridge Drive Apt. 390, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $487 for marijuana — less than an ounce. A charge of DUI drugs was dismissed.
•Terry Wayne Fowler, 41, 74 Buddy Moore Road Lot 1, Colbert, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $675 for battery under the Family Violence Act. Two charges of failure to appear were dismissed.
•Roy Roger Cooper, 62, 1169 Sims Kidd Road, Comer, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $100 for receipt, possession or transfer of a firearm by a convicted felon.
•Daniel Lee Hale, 34, 5601 Colham Ferry Road, Watkinsville, was sentenced to two years confinement, seven years probation and fined $725 for theft by taking. A charge of failure to appear was dismissed.
•Kelly Mildred Wright, 27, 508 Mason Mill Road, was sentenced to one year probation and fined a total of $175 for reckless driving (reduced from DUI) and failure to maintain a lane. A charge of leaving the scene of an accident was dismissed.
•Cassandra Dawn Shoemaker, 27, 83 B and L Lane, Danielsville, was sentenced to seven years probation and fined $387 for theft by taking.
•Hussain Ali Abdul-Lateef, 32, 40 Buddy Faust Road, Crawford, was sentenced to seven years probation, 40 hours community service and was fined $512 for possession of cocaine. He was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $725 for driving under the influence and also sentenced to one year probation and fined $70 for open container violation.
•Sherman Maurice Clark, 26, 205 Crystal Creek Drive, Colbert, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $512 for possession of hydrocodone. He was also sentenced to one year probation and was fined $210 for reckless driving. Charges of drugs not in original containter, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, DUI and speeding were dismissed.
•Bryan Austin Kidd, 36, 5110 Paoli Road, Carlton, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $512 for possession of methamphetamine.
•Danny Kaye Thrasher, 58, 200 Sussex Drive Apt. 2, Athens, was sentenced to seven years probation, 75 hours community service and fined $100 for theft by receiving stolen property. Charges of driving while license suspended or revoked and no proof of insurance were dismissed.
•Jennings T. Limehouse, 47, 188 Moriah Church Road, Colbert, was sentenced to five years probation and was fined $512 for possession of methamphetamine. Charges of possession of tools for the commission of a crime and crossing the guard line with contraband were dismissed.
•Richard Dean Pace, 50, 446 Hull Road, Athens, was sentenced to one year probation for possession of marijuana — less than an ounce and fined $420. Charges of crossing the guard line with contraband and safety belt violations were dismissed.
•Joshua Bobby Morton, 18, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $337 for statutory rape (reduced from child molestation). Charges of rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes were dismissed.
•Adam Samuel Duncan, 25, 1197 Hwy. 172, Colbert, was sentenced to one year probation and 40 community service hours for theft by taking.
•Evan Lee Horne, 48, 33 S&H Road, Comer, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $270 for theft by receiving stolen property.
•Mary Joan Mize, 38, 4145 Jot Em Down Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $320 for theft by taking.
•Melissa Diane Diaz, 33, 298 Janice Drive, Athens, was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $270 for theft by taking.
•Phillip Warren Dorminy, no age or address provided, was sentenced to one year confinement for cruelty to children in the first degree.
that makes no sense.. punish these people for all charges... don't dismiss some of them so they don't actually go to jail.
