A man listed as “homeless” in a recent crime report found at least a temporary residence in the county jail after attacking a woman in a home on Amberly Drive.
Randall Glenn Goss, 51, was charged with battery FVA, aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
According to the incident report, officer Alan Stratton was sent to Amberly Drive after a neighbor called 9-1-1 to report she heard a woman screaming “let me go” and what sounded like someone being thrown against the wall of a nearby residence.
When Stratton arrived, the neighbor pointed to 210 Amberly Drive saying that was where the fight was going on. Stratton approached the residence and heard a male’s voice stating “what the @#% did I say?” The front door was open and Stratton observed a white male (Goss) straddling a female holding her face down on the floor with his right hand. His other hand was on her back and he was yelling in her ear. Officer Stratton also noted that there was a yellow drill near him on the floor. Couch cushions and other items were strewn around the room as if there had been a struggle. Stratton went inside and ordered Goss off of the woman, handcuffed him and put him in his patrol car while he talked with the victim.
As he was being handcuffed, Goss reportedly told Stratton that the two were “having sex.” Goss then looked at the woman, who was shaking and upset, and ordered her to tell Stratton they were having sex and “commanded” her to give him a kiss. The woman remained silent and appeared afraid of Goss. Once Goss was secured, the woman told Stratton that she came home and went into the kitchen to pick up some trash on the floor when Goss grabbed her from behind and began to choke her. He pushed her into the living room and she began to yell for him to let her go. She said he then forced her face down on the couch so she couldn’t breathe.
When she attempted to yell again he pushed her face down on the carpet and held the drill with a long drill bit against her back and allegedly said, “do you know what it would feel like to be paralyzed?”
Stratton noted that she had red marks, bruising, and nail prints around her neck, along with an indention of a small pointed object in the center of her back.
When Stratton attempted to talk with Goss, he screamed and cursed and asked what she had said. After asking him again for his side of the story, Stratton gave up and shut the door on his patrol car. He obtained witness statements from the neighbor and the victim and then took Goss to jail. The victim refused medical treatment for her wounds.
