The primary office of the new Northern Judicial Circuit District Attorney will soon be in Danielsville.
Madison County commissioners agreed Monday to an arrangement with recently elected DA Parks White for use of one of the county-owned buildings in the former Lakeview Business Park off Rock Quarry Road, which is located just off Hwy. 29. Fine Finish, which serves developmentally challenged adults, moved to a building in that park last year. Madison County’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) services are also housed at the park.
The Northern Judicial Circuit includes five counties: Madison, Hart, Elbert, Franklin and Oglethorpe. Each county has an assistant DA and the DA prosecutes cases across the circuit.
While White will log considerable time in each county, he said Monday that he wants his home office to be in Danielsville, adding that he also intends to move to Madison County.
“I would love to see the establishment of the flagship office of this district attorney’s office in Madison County,” said White. “Additionally, I’d like to live in Madison County.”
White noted that having the main office in Danielsville means law students at the University of Georgia will have easy access to the DA’s office. UGA interns could learn while helping the circuit reduce its tremendous backlog of cases.
