Two arrested during warrant service

A small child answered the door, who told them the person they were looking for, Tracy Ophelia Fitzpatrick, was in her (Fitzpatrick’s) bedroom.

Officers were led to a locked bedroom door, where the child told Fitzpatrick someone was there to see her. Officers then announced their presence and they heard someone making rustling sounds. She was advised they had a warrant for her arrest and told her to open the door. She complied and Smith saw a man (William Douglas Smith), standing inside the room and another small child lying on the bed.

Officers also observed a set of digital scales in plain view. Fitzpatrick asked for water and officers discovered three oxycodone pills in her mouth. Both adults were arrested.

In addition to the outstanding Oconee County warrant, Fitzpatrick, 44, of 241 Grady Drive, Lot 14, Hull, was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession and use of drug-related objects and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Smith, 48, of 60 S and M Drive, Hull, was charged with possession and use of drug-related objects and two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
