A two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 72 near Colbert at approximately 7 p.m. Feb. 4 resulted in four people being transported to Athens Regional Medical Center by Madison County EMS.
One of those transported was a three-month old infant. EMS supervisor Bobby Smith said none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.
In other wrecks, a head-on collision was reported on Hwy. 106 South at Neese–Commerce Road on Saturday, Feb. 2 around 4:30 p.m. between a white Dodge Intrepid and a gray pickup truck. Three were transported to Athens Regional with non-life threatening injuries.
A one-vehicle wreck on Cheek Pulliam Road on Jan. 30 resulted in one woman being transported to Athens Regional with non-life threatening injuries. According to Smith, the woman was entrapped in her Mazda truck after she ran off the road in a sharp curve. The vehicle landed in a ditch. A Lifeflight helicopter was summoned, but was unable to fly due to weather conditions.
