Woman charged with stealing from MC Little League

A former treasurer with the Madison County Little League was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 29, on theft charges following an investigation that began last fall into missing funds from the non-profit organization during 2012.

Deborah Renee Seagraves, 47, 215 Winter Circle, Winterville, was charged with one count of theft by taking.

The amount allegedly stolen is $6,625 and included checks written to “cash,” according to sheriff’s investigator Doug Martin.

Seagraves was released on a $2,300 bond. During the time Seagraves served as treasurer she lived at a Danielsville address, Martin said.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed ALL THE MONEY that has been stolen in Madison County in the last couple of years? It happen in the government, the court system and now it has filtered down to the Little League? What's next? Maybe the Nursing Home, Animal control, OR maybe the Dump?
It seems to me like Madison Co. is to relaxed in the security area? It's like they will give anyone a check book and access to money?

Stealing $6K from a little league by writing checks to "Cash" = Heartless AND Stupid. That's no way to go through life!
