A Colbert man was arrested last week after a domestic dispute at residences on Cleghorne Road and Clark Circle.
Jason Wade Sargent 30, 267 Cleghorne Road, Colbert, was charged with reckless driving and aggravated assault.
According to the incident, Sargent’s girlfriend told deputies she was at home on Cleghorne Road with his three small daughters when Sargeant came home drunk and started a fight. The woman took the three girls and went to a residence on Clark Circle. Sargeant followed her there and became irate, striking a man at the residence with a board when he asked him to leave. He reportedly almost struck the girls with his vehicle as he left.
In another incident a Colbert man was arrested after he allegedly struck his mother.
Jeffrey Allen Scogin, 42, of 615 Scogin Road, was charged with one count of simple battery.
Scogin told deputies that his mother had fallen down on the front porch and that he did not strike her. His mother had visible injuries to her face and wrists, including some bruising.
Later, Scogin stated that his mother had told him his wife had to leave the residence and had tried to “push him around” and he had tried to hold her back but had not struck her with his hands.
Two adult daughters at the scene were left to take care of his mother and he was transported to the Madison County Jail.
